cosmic tuesday was a series of events for experimental and improvised music that took place in 2023 and was initiated by teleport collective and rhiz, a vienna based underground club.
each event started with a warm-up set played by teleport collective and featured the band's own compositions. before the start of the second set, the band welcomed a special guest on stage and introduced a theme, usually related to astronomy and space travel. what followed was the core of cosmic tuesday: a 50-minute performance by an otherwise never-before-seen constellation of musicians, completely unrehearsed, making music out of the moment and diving into the free fall of improvisation. the stage design and lighting matched the cosmic themes and supported the captivating atmosphere.
the artists introduced in the course of this series of events were mona matbou riahi, flora geißelbrecht, gabriel moraes, vicy pfeil, rui aziz and millycent.
